Victor is a serial entrepreneur and Founding Partner of Sapien Ventures — a fintech and online marketplace-focused venture capital firm with presence across Silicon Valley, Sydney, Melbourne & Shanghai.
Victor started his first company in Sydney at age 23, then took it to Europe where he lived and worked across twelve countries over a fifteen year span. After being acquired into IBM via a software company he was involved in, Victor led IBM’s enterprise-data-management business for its London investment banking and capital markets sector, and achieved 410% revenue growth in 2008 despite the GFC.
Founding Skillsapien in 2012 — an online marketplace for consulting professionals, Victor has since spent most of his time in Silicon Valley, where he built up a broad network of tech investors, business advisors and serial entrepreneurs. From this network Sapien Ventures was born - a VC firm dedicated to “bringing Silicon Valley knowhow to Australian tech entrepreneurs with a global outlook”.
Sapien Ventures’ first investment, HashChing.com.au — an online marketplace for mortgage brokers, just announced last month that it broke through $1 billion in mortgage applications processed through the platform, in less than three months after Sapien’s investment.
