Career Builder Mentoring program
The Career Builder program is designed for young finance professionals with a minimum of two years' experience. The program offers the opportunity for career acceleration by connecting mentees with senior finance leaders to provide one-on-one support to clarify career plans, aspirations and to discuss specific challenges mentees may be experiencing.
This program represents a significant opportunity for personal and professional development. Join over 700 aspiring professionals who have tapped into the expertise, insights and networks of today’s leaders.
The program runs over 3 months and includes:
- Six one-on-one sessions with a Career Mentor: These are 1-hour informal meetings with a Career Mentor (a senior financial professional) where participants discuss their career plans, career aspirations and challenges they may be facing in a confidential setting. This program is focused on helping mentees transition into senior roles.
- Access to interactive online mentoring platform – easy goal setting and calendaring of appointments, access to online private journal, discussion forums and online career content.
- Access a mentor anywhere – participants can be involved in selecting their own mentor - and are able access mentors in other states/overseas if desired.
- Complimentary event: Opportunity (for same state mentoring partnerships) to connect and network with like-minded finance professionals and senior leaders within Financial Services.

The mentor experience
|I WISH I HAD ONE! ||MUTUAL LEARNING, INTEGRITY, RESPECT, TRUST |
|"Looking back on my 20 years career in the investment industry I knew I had to become a mentor; because I wish I had one! Someone who had taken the time to be a confidant, a sounding board, and a guide. That’s what being a Finsia mentor is for me. |
After mentoring successful-people-of-the-future with Finsia I have learnt to expect that every mentoring experience is different. For some it’s about entering the industry, for others it’s about getting the next role or that promotion. As the mentor I am the sounding board, the devil’s advocate, the career strategist, and the guide.
I have been mentoring for Finsia for over three years and have helped 10 people to advance their career in finance. This is an honorary role where, for me, the satisfaction is I have made a positive contribution to someone’s future."
|“People within the financial services sector are crying out for external mentoring and Finsia has put together an outstanding program to meet this demand. This is a highly professional, structured program which is unique in that mentors and mentees are carefully matched to ensure both parties get the most out of the opportunity. |
As a mentor I have found this program both stimulating and fulfilling. It represents an excellent opportunity to pass on some of the skills picked up over a career in financial services. The program is built on mutual learning, integrity, respect and trust. I strongly encourage other senior members of the industry to participate in this program and play a part in shaping the next generation.”
