Finsia’s University Education Partnership with Macquarie University’s Applied Finance Centre (MAFC) means you’re able to study with the leading graduate education provider in applied finance, as well as taking advantage of unique member benefits.
MAFC has three graduate applied finance programs, delivered in a four-term year:

Graduate Certificate of Finance (with complimentary Finsia membership)
The Graduate Certificate of Finance (GradCertFin) is a comprehensive gateway program in graduate finance. By enrolling, you’ll receive complimentary Affiliate Membership (valued at $195) for the first year of your studies and have access to Finsia’s tailored networking and career development programs. This program suits those with an undergraduate degree or five years’ relevant work experience.
So, when you enrol at MAFC, select Finsia membership on the application.
The GradCertFin is offered in partnership with MAFC, and is delivered and assessed online. You can study the GradCertFin from anywhere, whilst being supported through structured learning activities in partnership with peers and MAFC’s Academics. You’ll benefit from continual learning and feedback so that you engage meaningfully with the curriculum.
With a 4-term year, you have the flexibility of four commencing dates, and can complete the GradCertFin in six months, minimum. For those working full-time, MAFC recommends one unit of study per term.
Upon completion, the GradCertFin will give you an accelerated pathway to professional membership of Finsia, and a pathway towards MAFC’s other graduate applied finance programs, the Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance, and Master of Applied Finance.

Duration of study
There are four units of study (4 credit points each). The minimum time to complete the Grad Cert of Finance is six months. MAFC recommends one unit of study per term.

Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance students
The Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance (GradDipAppFin) offers an opportunity for finance industry professionals with at least 2 years’ professional work experience and prior studies in a business/finance field to study at an advanced level without necessarily taking the full Master of Applied Finance program.
The GradDipAppFin suits finance generalists or those seeking to specialise:
- Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance
- Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance (Business Valuation)
- Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance (Financial Risk Management)
- Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance (Retirement Outcomes)
This face-to-face program is taught by leading industry practitioners in Melbourne CBD, Sydney CBD, Singapore and Beijing. It takes a minimum of 12 months’ part-time study.
Master of Applied Finance (with discounted professional Finsia membership)
The Master of Applied Finance (MAppFin) is one of the largest and most respected in the world and has close to 5,000 graduates across 43 countries. This program is for experienced professionals employed currently in the finance industry or other professions but wanting to transition to finance (such as engineers lawyers, or IT specialists).
This face-to-face program is taught by leading industry practitioners in Melbourne CBD, Sydney CBD, Singapore and Beijing. It takes a minimum of 2 years’ part-time study.
Finsia recognises the rigour of the MAppFin's curriculum, and the commitment required to complete the program, and so invites students to apply for Finsia’s professional, Associate Membership at the discounted rate of $195, a saving of $150.
