2023 marked the start of FINSIA’s transformation as we embarked on bringing our 2023-2025 strategic plan to life. This journey started in 2022 with a comprehensive review, with the development of our new strategy to reposition our organisation to add more value to members in more ways across the sector.

With a new Chief Executive and Board President, FINSIA undertook a review of its strategy during 2022. A new three-year strategy that shapes FINSIA's purpose to support ambitious professionals and guides a vision to be a leading professional body contributing to a strong society is now being implemented.

2021 saw a continuation of the challenges of 2020 presented by COVID-19 and climate change but a continuation of FINSIA’s focus on promoting and supporting an engaged purpose-driven professional community.

Through 2020 FINSIA sought to improve and build on our member offering connecting them with leading relevant, timely content, and high calibre speakers, and focussing on increasing the diversity of our speakers and the diversity of topics, recognising the changing needs of our members during 2020 and COVID.

In 2019, the outcome of the royal commission is further proof that FINSIA's purpose to lift professional standards in the industry is the right one.

In 2018, the royal commission presented a leadership opportunity for FINSIA and further proof that its purpose to lift professional standards in the industry is the right one.

In 2017 FINSIA identified strong consumer, industry and regulator support for professionalisation in financial services.

2016 was a watershed year for community confidence in financial institutions, with culture and conduct coming under intense scrutiny.
