The Securities Analysts Association of Japan (SAAJ) will host the second webinar in the series. Cambodia launched a central bank digital currency (CBDC) “Bakong” in 2020 using the blockchain technology provided by the Japanese Fintech company Soramitsu Co., Ltd. Mr. Kazumasa Miyazawa, CEO of Soramitsu, will talk about the experience of Cambodia’s CBDC and the situation in Japan.

CEO, Soramitsu Co., Ltd.
Kazumasa Miyazawa is CEO of Soramitsu Co., Ltd. which is the original developer of blockchain technology “Hyperledger Iroha”.
He is also a professor at Tokyo Institute of Technology and a member of ISO TC307, a technical committee of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies. In 2001, he founded bitWallet, Inc., which is the first and most popular electronic money company in Japan. He served as a working group member of the Financial System Council of the Financial Service Agency in 2008.
Soramitsu contributed to adding unique features to the blockchain technology, which led to a launch of Hyperledger Iroha. Soramitsu applied Iroha in various undertakings both at home and abroad, such as the digital currency with National Bank of Cambodia, the decentralized digital depository with Moscow Exchange of Russia and the digital identity system with PT Bank Central Asia Tbk of Indonesia and a number of Japanese companies.
