Maggie works at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank in the Portfolio Funding department which focuses on warehouse funding, securitisation and structed financing.
She started as a Graduate at Bendigo 4 years ago after completing a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Adelaide.
She is currently completing a Master of Financial Technology, with a keen interest in FinTech and Behavioural Finance.
Maggie has been on the FINSIA SA YFP since 2019, taking the role of chair in early 2021.
State General Manager, Consumer, BankSA
Ben Owen joined Westpac Group in May 2017 as BankSA’s Head of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Business Banking, later being appointed as General Manager Retail Banking BankSA in June 2018. From August 2019 he became the Head of Retail Banking for Westpac and BankSA SA & NT, subsequently in January 2021 he was appointed to the role as State General Manager BankSA and Westpac SA & NT. In this new role he is responsible for leading the BankSA and Westpac consumer teams across South Australia and Northern Territory.
Prior to joining Westpac Group, Ben spent over a decade at ANZ where he held leadership roles in customer relationship management, frontline product distribution, strategic risk initiatives, credit risk policy, project management, governance and strategy. Ben has a successful track record in implementing process improvements and change programs across consumer and business banking divisions.
Ben is a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA) and a Regional Council Representative of FINSIA SA/NT. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Deakin Business School, a Graduate Diploma of Management and Graduate Certificate of Corporate Management. Ben also has a Bachelor of Business (majoring in International Business) and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in International Studies) from the University of South Australia. He has studied internationally at Nanyang Technology University in Singapore, where he undertook studies in International Economics, Asian Politics, Finance and Entrepreneurship. He has completed Design Thinking for Innovation at University of Virginia (Darden School of Business) and is currently studying Digital Transformation in Financial Services at Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
Ben is active in the local community being the Chair of the Westpac Community Board (South Australia Chapter), a representative of the BankSA Foundation, a platinum alliance representative partner for Entrepreneurship Organisation (EO Adelaide Chapter). He is a champion of workplace change and flexibility, regularly presenting and participating in events for Women of Westpac (WOW) and Westpac’s The Youth Network (TYN). In 2020 he was appointed as a Chief for Gender Equity (South Australia), the Chiefs for Gender Equity are a group of senior business leaders from prominent South Australian companies with the common aim of advancing gender equity.
Head of Employee Experience, Wisr
Kate is the Head of Employee Experience at Wisr, a Sydney based fintech, with over 10 years of experience building people, culture and recruitment programs that drive business results. She started her career in Silicon Valley, where she drove talent programs at Salesforce and smaller tech startups. She moved to Sydney in 2016 and has built the Wisr Employee Experience team and function from the ground up.
