Founder of Mark Thomas Financial Services & Inspirational Leaders, non-executive director, company adviser, educator.
With over 25 years in investment management in both listed and unlisted markets, including 10 years in senior management, Mark has worked with large institutions to develop bespoke investment strategies, led sales efforts, managed back-office functions, and has been a trader in the derivative and equity markets. As a consultant Mark has assisted companies and individuals to achieve their goals through serving as the General Manager and Company Secretary of a finance industry body, chairing the Risk Committee for a Retail investment manager, and providing strategic advice to small and medium sized businesses.
Mark has been teaching for over 30 years at the tertiary and post-graduate levels, working for universities, superannuation and finance industry bodies, and private education institutions to teach subjects in business, finance, investment management, derivatives, strategy, risk management, and communications. In addition to teaching, Mark has authored papers on finance, investment, and risk management. He also is a blogger on investment-related topics, and is a regular speaker on topics related to the financial services industry.
Mark’s community service work is through directorships in the arts, youth, sports, and financial services sectors, where he has successfully steered each entity to grow whilst reducing risk through developing risk policies, risk management frameworks, improving financial processes, and leading the development of organisational strategy.
Mark holds a GAICD, a M App Fin, a Grad Dip in Financial Planning, a Grad Dip in Applied Finance and Investment, and a BEng.
Mark has been a member of FINSIA since 1988.
In his spare time Mark is a writer, runner, cyclist, skier, bushwalker, and rower.

Adam is an experienced leader in the Banking industry with over 25 years’ experience across a number of various roles from frontline to support teams. He is a passionate leader that can bring the best out of his colleagues whilst enabling strategy to come to life for the betterment of the customer and the colleague experience. He enjoys working with data and analysing performance to assist with the development of the appropriate strategies and change programs. He also has a keen interest in coaching and mentoring to help people be the best they can be.
Away from work, Adam loves spending quality time with his family and is a soccer referee and referee coach across the winter months.

Stephen has over 30 years of banking experience in Australia and the US. He current leads a team providing Second Line Credit Assurance over NAB’s Personal, Business & Private, and Corporate Banking divisions.

Phil Dolan has a background in mathematics, IT and finance and has held senior positions in industry and academia. He completed his PhD in Finance at Stanford University and is a Senior Fellow of FINSIA and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Within industry he worked for over a decade in the Investment Management arm of Macquarie Bank.
Within academia he has delivered courses on Portfolio Management, Creative Problem Solving and Finance. Between 2011 and 2017 he was Dean of the UWA Business School. He is a Professor and Director of the Institute for the Future of Business at the University of Melbourne. He is also an active angel investor with a particular focus on female founded startups.

Alex has significant experience providing Risk Advisory & Audit Services to a wide range of regulated Banking, Wealth Management, Insurance and Superannuation entities (in the Risk, Finance, Operations and Compliance areas) as well as commercial experience having spent significant time seconded into roles within a Global Investment Bank, Commercial Bank and Australian Government Owned Entity. His focus and experience includes, the Financial Services Royal Commission, Operational risk, Compliance, Conduct, Financial and Non-Financial Risk frameworks, specialist skills in Data, including the Consumer Data Right (CDR), CPS900 Recovery and Resolution Planning, NOHC's and technology enabled strategic implementation at scale, remediation and regulatory breaches and regulatory reporting. He is also a recognised regulatory expert in CPS900 and NOHC’s, having advised a range of Australian FSI’s.
