Orbiting space satellites that can detect wilted vegetation and stressed plant life are part of the Artificial Intelligence armoury that Lachie Vogt uses to map a sustainable future for Australia’s farmers.
Machine-learning used in the AI and Geospatial Consultant’s AgriFuture project also analyses more than 100 years of agricultural records to help banks and businesses deal with the risks brought about by climate change.
Lachie, who spent a decade at major financial services institutions before setting up his futureproofing technology, will be showcasing his work to FINSIA members next month when he presents The Future of AgriBanking: Monitoring Australia's Farms from Space.
