Yasser was speaking after a series of breakfast events where he and President David Cox F FIN met with stakeholders, banks, regulators and members.
“With COVID restrictions lifted, it was fantastic to be back in New Zealand to spend time with our members,” he said.
“There is nothing better than hearing in person about the services and support that will be beneficial to our community in New Zealand.
“But we would like to extend that opportunity to all of those in our professional community who would like to have their say, whether it be about events, knowledge programs or submissions.
“We are developing a forward program of events and activities in New Zealand for 2023, so please send us any feedback about the topics and speakers you’d like to see next year.”
Yasser also thanked everyone who was able to join the networking breakfast in Wellington were Gavin Read, Head of Research, JLL New Zealand, gave a presentation with his insights into the commercial property sector for 2023.
During the week-long trip, David and Yasser met with key stakeholders in Wellington and Auckland including the Financial Markets Authority, Financial Services Council, Institute of Directors, New Zealand Bankers’ Association as well as holding meetings with potential commercial partners.
Yasser added: “It’s clear to us from the visit that there are so many opportunities for FINSIA in New Zealand to help members, especially with such a large cohort on our qualification program in partnership with BNZ. We want to make sure we are offer the very best membership.”
Yasser thanked New Zealand National Council Chair, Bernie McCrea F FIN (Abbotts), as well as New Zealand National Councillors and FINSIA Director, Carolyn Kidd SF FIN, for hosting the visit to New Zealand.
