Whilst we would be familiar with traditional banking, most practitioners might be surprised to learn that in fact there are two additional types of banking that exist in Australia, shadow and underground. These forms of banking are less regulated than traditional banking and often are cited as the potential cause of the next financial crisis or of facilitating money-laundering and other misdeeds.
