Close to 700 financial services and property industry members were in Brisbane for the prestigious annual networking and information session.
HSBC’s Chief Economist for Australia and New Zealand Paul Bloxham returned to the stage for the first time since the pandemic to give his perspectives about the ahead in his trademark energetic style.
Domain’s Chief of Research and Economics Dr Nicola Powell joined this year to give her insights with a focus on the property market, highlighting the need for a halt in interest rate rises before prices stabilise.
FINSIA CEO and Managing Director Yasser El-Ansary F FIN said: “It’s been a fantastic opportunity to come together in person again.
“It’s so great to see 600-700 people gathered together again in person in Brisbane for this annual event.
“Allowing access to networking events with the opportunity to hear from real experts like Paul and Nicola is a top priority for FINSIA.
“Their predictions for 2023 have certainly left us all with much to think about. I can’t help but think we are on a rollercoaster. It’s going to be a really interesting year or two ahead.”
API CEO Amelia Hodge, whose organisation has partnered with FINSIA for more than a decade to bring the annual event, added: “It has been another fantastic Economic Indicators. Hearing Paul and Nicola’s predictions for the economy and the property market is a great way to kick off the year.”
