Anthony Ryan

Chief Executive Officer, BEDA

Recognised as a ‘Queensland Great’ in 2013, Anthony is a well-respected and self-confessed sport loving local who is known for the passion and entrepreneurial spirit that he brings to all professional endeavours.

An inspiring leader with a proven track record in delivering strategic business outcomes and strong partnerships, Anthony is responsible for leading BEDA to drive sustainable economic growth for the City.

As Brisbane’s champion, BEDA works with stakeholders to enhance the City’s reputation globally, drive visitation and attract investment and talent, whilst looking ahead at emerging opportunities for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Paul Bloxham

Chief Economist for Australia, New Zealand and Global Commodities, HSBC

Paul Bloxham is HSBC’s Chief Economist for Australia, New Zealand and Global Commodities and is a Managing Director.

He is chief spokesperson for HSBC on forecasts and trends for the Australian and New Zealand economies and their interaction with global financial markets and international economies. Paul is also a key spokesperson on HSBC’s unique view on global commodity markets and works closely with HSBC’s global equities team.

He is also a member of the Australian National University's Shadow Reserve Bank Board and is an Adjunct Professor at Curtin University. 

In 2017, Paul’s team won Focus Economics awards for best overall forecaster for each of Australia and New Zealand. Prior to joining HSBC in 2010, Paul Bloxham spent 12 years as an economist within the Reserve Bank of Australia's Economic Analysis Department. Paul holds a Master's degree in public financial policy from the London School of Economics.

Jen Williams

Chief Executive Officer, Committee for Brisbane

Jen started as CEO of the Committee for Brisbane in June 2024, leading the organisation’s advocacy, thought leadership and commercial operations.

Prior to joining the Committee, Jen led the Queensland Division of the Property Council of Australia. Over her 12-year tenure at the Property Council, she progressed from Senior Policy Advisor, to Deputy Executive Director, and was appointed as Executive Director in 2021.

Jen is a well-known face in Brisbane business, not-for-profit and political circles, having formed many partnerships in the pursuit of policy reform, including through public campaigns to address the housing crisis and to increase post-pandemic visitation of the city centre.

Alongside her significant experience in policy, events and engagement, Jen also has a background in secondary school education, development and political advice. She holds a Master of Management (International Business), Bachelor of Social Science and Bachelor of Education.

Amelia Hodge (Moderator)

Amelia has been the CEO of the Australian Property Institute for over 7 years and has enjoyed a senior executive career spanning 25 years.

Her previous Chief Executive, Senior Executive and project roles have included Origin Energy, Powerlink Queensland, the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority, Qld Law Society and Coffey Commercial Advisory, following her legal career in the property sector.
