What you will learn
The course comprises 12 units, and after completion you will:

Understand the emergence of climate change and its impacts on the environment, economy, society, and the financial services sector.

Have the ability to identify, describe and classify climate-related financial and non-financial risks, and the impacts of these on the economy, society and the financial services sector.

Understand the challenges in measuring, monitoring and reporting climate risks, and the availability and quality of data.

Be able to identify common approaches to modelling climate risks, including the use of scenario analysis.

Understand the approaches and responses to climate risk at global, regional and national levels, and their impacts on the financial services sector.

Understand the approaches to defining, developing, articulating and embedding climate risk appetite, governance and culture.
-
Have explored the opportunities for the financial services sector in supporting the transition to a sustainable, low carbon world.
Course Structure
Delivered: Online, enrolment for 12 months.
Time requirement: Generally completed within 6 months.
Course prerequisites: An understanding of risk management principles and financial services practices is recommended.
Assessment: An online, 90 minute, 75-question multiple choice, invigilated exam (pass mark of 60%).
Assessment fees: An assessment fee is applicable if an exam resit is required, payable to the Chartered Banker Institute.
Outcome: A digital certificate is issued by the Chartered Banker Institute and the ability to use the Cert CRP (Certified Climate Risk Professional) post-nominal*.
*The use of the professional designation CRP is reliant on continued membership of the Chartered Banker Institute.
BECOMING A CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL BANKER
While this certificate can be studied as a standalone course, it is also a contributory module for FINSIA’s Certified Professional Banker program.
