What you will learn
The course contains 12 units and by completing the course, you will:

Understand green and sustainable finance in the context of retail, commercial and wholesale banking, central and development banks, insurance and investment sectors. This also includes the introduction of green and sustainable fintech.

Know the science of climate change and the role of the financial system in the natural world.

Understand how global, international and national policy, regulatory and industry responses support flows of finance for sustainable growth.

Understand key sustainable finance frameworks/ principles.

Know how climate-related financial risks, and other environmental and sustainability risks are identified, disclosed and reported.

Know how to support customers in their transition to sustainability.

Understand the ethical dimensions of green and sustainable finance, and the role of Green and Sustainable Finance Professionals™.
Course Structure
Delivered: Online, enrolment for 12 months.
Time requirement: Generally completed within 6 months.
Course prerequisites: None.
Assessment: An online, 90 minute, 75-question multiple choice, invigilated exam (pass mark 60%).
Assessment fee: An assessment fee is applicable if an exam resit is required, payable to the Chartered Banker Institute.
Qualification outcome: A digital certificate is issued by the Chartered Banker Institute, and the ability to use the Green and Sustainable Finance Professional (GSFP) professional designation*.
*The use of the professional designation GSFP is reliant on continued membership of the Chartered Banker Institute.
BECOMING A CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL BANKER
While this certificate can be studied as a standalone course, it is also a contributory module for FINSIA’s Certified Professional Banker program.
