What you will learn
The course contains seven units and includes the following topics:

The purpose, influences and functions of banking in Australia and New Zealand.

The importance of high standards of ethical conduct in banking and the practicalities of applying these standards.

How key regulatory and legal requirements influence the way in which banks operate.

How banking products and services can meet customer needs.
-
The principles of providing high-quality service to customers.
-
The key principles of credit and consumer lending and how these are used to provide appropriate outcomes for the customer and the bank.

The role of risk management in banking.
Course Structure
Delivered: Online, enrolment for 12 months.
Time requirement: Between 6 and 12 months.
Course prerequisites: None.
Assessment: An online, 75 minute, 60-question multiple choice, invigilated exam (pass mark of 60%).
Assessment fees: An assessment fee is applicable if an exam resit is required.
Qualification outcome: A qualification certificate and the ability to use the post-nominal (GFIN) to reflect the successful completion of the qualification for FINSIA members.
BECOMING A CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL BANKER
Professional Banking Fundamentals is also a mandatory module in achieving the Certified Professional Banker qualification.
