After completion, you will be able to:

Explain the basics of risk and risk management in banking, and outline the different types of risks banks face.

Describe the purpose of legal and regulatory principles in banking and how they influence bank operations and risk management.

Identify the risks banks face and explain how these risks can be recognised, managed, and monitored.

Explain the purpose, benefits, and limits of business and regulatory risk models used in banking.

Describe the tools and processes used to monitor and control risk in banking.

Define risk culture, how it impacts effective risk management, and how best practices can help banks build a strong risk culture.
Course Structure
Delivered: Online, enrolment for 12 months.
Time requirement: Generally completed within 6 months.
Course prerequisites: None, although a general knowledge of financial services is useful.
Assessment: An online, 180 minute, 90-question multiple choice, invigilated exam (pass mark of 60%).
Assessment fees: An assessment fee is applicable if an exam resit is required. (UK).
Outcome: A certificate is issued by the Chartered Banker Institute (UK) upon successful completion of the course.
BECOMING A CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL BANKER
While this certificate can be studied as a standalone course, it is also a contributory module for FINSIA’s Certified Professional Banker program.
